Well hello there, yes, I still exist, I’m still alive and also quite inconsistent with the content I (try) to put out, sorry…
I’m not looking for excuses or trying to apologize but I think I haven’t been writing on this blog out of pure laziness, not gonna lie, and also self-doubt. I keep thinking I’m not capable of writing a good blog post, but the thing is, I don’t really try and do anything to solve this problem. So it is completely my fault and I wholesomely admit that.
Now that that’s out of the way, there are so many things I want to talk about on this platform; causes dear to my heart, ongoing battles I want to tell you about and all the things that are changing the world, that I find interesting. I would like to write about these topics keeping the current unique point of view I have on the world : the one of an actual teenager, who happens to be a British girl living in a rather lost town of rural France. When I say I have a current “unique” point of view, rest assure I am not being arrogant I just think in media and art teenagers are overlooked as being lost, confused, crazy because of puberty or dramatic and that we don’t know what we’re doing, and maybe we are those things but that doesn’t make our opinions, thoughts or beliefs any less valid, even if we, supposedly, don’t have a lot of experience.
I will be specifically talking about films because I quite like them, someone once suggested I call my blog “diary of a teenage film buff”, and while I don’t like this title, the idea is really nice, I mean how many women critics do we know of ? Or do we even know what teenagers think about the film industry or films in general, we don’t, do we ?So that’s basically what I want to do, it’s that simple.
To conclude this post I made a little list of the topics or people I want to write about on this blog :
- Timothée Chalamet, what is teenager without a crush ? Come on.
- Rosalía, a rising artist
- The Favourite
- Women in films
- La Nouvelle Vague
- Climate change
- Les films Francais.
